Merchant Center audit: suspended accounts and disapproved products.

When Google suspends an account for misrepresentation, it almost never says what went wrong. I review Merchant Center, the feed, the website, the policies and the checkout, separate what is proven from what is an assumption, and give you a prioritised action plan.

Read-only: I change nothing in your account or on your website without your approval.

I take on only a few accounts at a time, so I can work on them myself and in detail.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Account suspended for misrepresentation (misrepresentation) and the notice doesn't say what went wrong.
  • Reviews rejected again and again, with changes made "just in case" that didn't help.
  • The review button is disabled and you don't know when you can try again.
  • Products disapproved or with limited visibility with no clear cause.
  • The agency has already tried the usual fixes and needs an independent second opinion.
  • The shop was built from another one, from another country or another brand, and you don't know what was left behind.

Google states that in serious cases it can suspend an account without prior warning and that every failed review can extend the wait until the next one (Merchant Center help). That's why it pays to understand the problem before you spend another review.

I don't look for many errors. I look for the one that matters.

An audit with forty "issues" doesn't help if you don't know which ones block the review. Every finding in the report has a label so you know how much weight to give it:

  • Confirmed by Google

Merchant Center explicitly flags the issue.

  • Requirement

An official Google policy requires it, with a link to the source.

  • Discrepancy

Two sources say different things, for example the website and Merchant Center.

  • Risk

May reduce transparency, but there is no evidence that it caused the suspension.

  • Recommendation

Good practice that builds trust; not mandatory.

  • Ruled out

A hypothesis investigated and not supported by the evidence.

A good audit also shows what is not the problem. So you don't waste time or reviews fixing what was already right.

What I review.

Many suspensions don't come from an error on one page, but from two places saying different things: one delivery time in Merchant Center and another on the website, one address in the legal notice and another at checkout. I compare every source with the others.

  • Merchant Center

Suspension notice, review history, waiting period, business information, verification, shipping, returns and products that need attention.

  • Business identity

Trading name, legal name, address, phone and email: consistency between Merchant Center, contact page, legal notice, terms and checkout.

  • Shipping

Delivery times, costs, free shipping thresholds and regions compared with what the real checkout shows.

  • Returns

Deadline, who pays, method, product condition and refund.

  • Website and policies

Home page, footer, contact, FAQ, policies and product pages: template text, broken links and mixed languages.

  • Feed and structured data

Price, availability, currency, brand, GTIN and URLs in the feed compared with the product page and the structured data.

  • Cart and checkout

Final price, taxes, shipping costs, payment methods and seller, without placing orders.

  • Cloned shops

Leftovers from another brand, country, currency or domain.

  • Linked services

Google Ads, Business Profiles and location groups linked to the account.

What you get.

  • Initial report within 48 hours

Account status, hypotheses investigated and prioritised issues, each with its label, its evidence and the Google policy that applies.

  • Plan before the review

What to fix and in what order, what is set up correctly and should be left alone, and what information to ask the merchant for.

  • Video call

I walk you through the results, we answer questions and agree on next steps.

  • Changes and feed improvements

If you need it, I apply the changes in Merchant Center and the feed improvements myself, always with your approval.

  • Feed management training

If your team will maintain the feed, I train them to use the feed management tool.

  • For agencies and merchants

An independent diagnosis an agency can present to its client, or direct help if you manage your own account.

What I don't do.

  • I don't guarantee reinstatement. The decision is always Google's. What I do is make sure you go into the review knowing what you've fixed and why.
  • I don't touch your account without permission. The audit is read-only and I never ask for passwords or verification codes.
  • I don't make up data to make everything match. If a deadline, an address or a policy depends on how you actually operate, I ask you to confirm it.
  • I don't recommend opening another Merchant Center account to get around a suspension. It can create more risk for the related accounts.
  • I don't present assumptions as causes. If something is a risk rather than a proven cause, you'll see it labelled that way.

How it works.

  • 1. Free initial review

You tell me what happened and what has been tried, and I see whether an audit makes sense.

  • 2. Report within 48 hours

With read access to Merchant Center, or with screenshots and exports if that isn't possible. Diagnosis with labelled findings and priorities, and a video call to explain it.

  • 3. Changes

You, your agency or I apply them, with your approval and before requesting the review.

Price: the initial review is free. After that it depends on the problem: hourly or a fixed price that we agree before starting.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Do you guarantee Google will reinstate the account?

No. The decision is Google's and nobody can honestly guarantee it. What I offer is an evidence-based diagnosis so the next review isn't a shot in the dark.

Why doesn't Google say what went wrong?

The misrepresentation policy is broad and Google can review information from several sources: the listings, the website, the accounts and third-party sources (misrepresentation policy). That's why the notice is usually generic and all those sources have to be compared with each other.

Should I request the review now and audit afterwards?

Usually not. Google recommends reviewing the shop and the account thoroughly before requesting a review, and every failed review can extend the waiting period. It's better to go in with the issues fixed.

What if the linked Google Ads account is also suspended?

According to Google, the Google Ads suspension has to be resolved first; unlinking it does not lift the Merchant Center suspension (Merchant Center help).

Is it useful if my account isn't suspended?

Yes. I also review disapproved products, warnings or a new account before you start advertising.

What access do you need?

Read access to Merchant Center and, where relevant, to the shop. I never ask for passwords or verification codes. If access isn't possible, I work with screenshots and exports.
